Weekend Fun

We have had a very fun filled weekend. It has been wonderful having Brandon here with us. He has a weeks vacation. Hopefully we will here something about his job so he can start work in Denver next Monday.
We had a BBQ with the Emmaus Road team. It is fun to get together with the group but I hope we can start adding to our numbers soon.
Later we took the family to Waneka Lake. It's not to far from our house and they have paddle boats. Zach was in heaven on the pirate boat. I had to be a viking with the girls. We finished off the afternoon playing on the playground epuiptment.
Sunday we took the kids up to Nederland and enjoyed hiking and the beautiful scenery. Only God can create something as beautiful as the mountains. We enjoyed every minute of it until the rain came and ran us off of the mountain.

On Vacation in Indianola, NE

We were tired of waiting for Brandon to start working in Denver so we made the trip back to Nebraska and have been having fun with Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, and Papa. I days have been filled with BBQ's, catching lightning bugs, swimming, watching t-ball, and much fun playing with cousins. We love it here but can't wait to get back home.

Finally Here!

We arrived here in Lafayette, Colorado on June 2. What a crazy ride this has been. We are still working on getting settled. Brandon is still working in North Platte. We continue to pray that everything will work out soon so that we can be together as a family again.

The kids have been excited to be here. Each day we go searching for something new to see and do. Sidney is amazed at the sun sets over the mountains each night. Zach is impressed with "those big hills over there". Brooklyn can't wait to get up there and climb the mountain.

We miss everyone back home and hope that we have lots of visitors. I will work to keep the blog updated as often as I can so you can see our smiling faces:)

Praise the Lord!

Today Brooklyn had her tonsils out. Everything went very well. Our prayers were answered. I find myself worrying when I don't need to. I need to be better at believing God. He is our hedge of protection (and protect her he did). We were very blessed to have Dr. Phil at the wheel. Knowing that his hands were guided by God was a huge praise.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for her. We will continue to pray for healing and a fast recovery.

Why are we going?

A beautiful snow fell yesterday. It finally feels like winter again. I often find myself questioning why it is we are leaving the comforts of home to move to someplace as uncomfortable as Boulder. From a wordly perspective it makes no sense at all. I have to remind myself that we are going to do what God has called us to do. A friend called to share a verse with me today and it helped to remind me of our mission.

It is Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion-
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
tho oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
The will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

A God Day

Here are some wise words from Pastor Bryan Clark, "We operate on the level of the supernatural. We are constantly dancing on the edge of this mysterious, unimaginable, unpredictable presence of God, where we understand on any given day the most amazing, miraculous things may happen. Every day there is a sence of anticipation that this will be a "God day" and things that cannot be planned, strategized, understood or explained may happen before our very eyes. That's what God wants from Us."

I think if we all lived everyday thinking that it is a "God day" life would be a lot more exciting!

We hope that everyone is have a wonderful "God day" today!

Feb. 1, 2006

I am not a very computer savvy person but setting this up has been kind of fun! I hope to start putting more profound stuff on here later but until then just keep checking for these not-so-deep thoughts by the Brinker family.
