Thankful Thursday (Beewear)

I am so thankful this Thursday that we only have 5 more days of school left. I am ready to spend time with my kids and enjoy the summer. Sidney's homework this week was to write a letter to next years teacher. I thought it was so cute that I decided to share it with you. Enjoy!

Funny and Sad but True

I was reading through blogs and came across this on Between Diapers and Dishes and thought that it was so true that it was sadly funny. I know that I have been guilty of it as many of you I am sure. That is one thing (good and bad) about house church, you can't do these things because there is not enough people and you will get caught. Do people really think that knowbody knows what they are doing. I think alot of the time they don't want to know what is being said because it might convict them to change. They show up and put in their hour once a week so that they feel better about themselves. They are not there to worship or gain more knowledge but to show their face. Anyways read on...

Quarterback Sneak - Church members quietly leaving during the invitation.

Draw Play - What many children do with the bulletin during worship.

Halftime - The period between Sunday school and worship when many choose to leave.

Bench warmer - Those who do not sing, pray, work, or do anything but sit.

Backfield-in-Motion - Making a trip to the back (restroom or water fountain) during the service.

Staying in the Pocket - What happens to a lot of money that should be given to the Lord's work.

Two-minute Warning - The point at which you realize the sermon is almost over and begin to gather up your children and belongings.

Instant Replay - The preacher loses his notes and falls back on last week's illustrations.

Sudden Death - What happens to the attention span of the congregation if the preacher goes "overtime."

Trap - You're called on to pray and are asleep.

End Run - Getting out of church quick, without speaking to any guest or fellow member.

Flex Defense - The ability to allow absolutely nothing said during the sermon to affect your life.

Halfback Option - The decision of 50% of the congregation not to return for the evening service.

Blitz - The rush for the restaurants following the closing prayer.

A Day of Rock Climbing

Our new neighbors took Brandon, Zach, and Brooklyn to Flagstaff mountain on Saturday for a morning of rock climbing. They had a wonderful time and can't wait to get back there again.

These are our new neighbors Mark, Monica, Benjamin, and Samuel.

This is about how high Zach and Samuel would get. They weren't very adventurous.

Hold on tight, Brooklyn!

On her way back down.
Amazing views awaited them at the top. It was a beautiful day to be out and about. Hopefully next time I will be able to go.

A Beautiful Saturday Morning

We woke very early, 5 a.m. to be exact, to head out to the hot air balloon launch. I am sure glad that we did. It was a gorgeous morning, not a cloud in the sky. We met up with our neighbors and were amazed together.

This dragon was one of the kids favorites!

There were balloons of every kind.

Funny Friday

I'm trying to decide if this is funny or so true that it is sad!

Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful for two of the worlds truly great pleasures, Coffee and Chocolate. I don't particularly like them mixed together on there own they are great. God created them on the 3rd day. I think that he couldn't wait till the 4th or 5th or 6th day because he already knew just how wonderful they would be.

I am thankful for milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate.

I am thankful for coffee with cream, lattes, frappaccino, cappuccino, coffee ice cream, coffee cake, and chocolate covered coffee beans.

One of the Greatest Cleaning Products of All Time

I know that you all probably think that I am a dork for blogging about this but I don't care. I don't know why I waited sooooo long to try this product. It is an amazing cleaning tool. It cleans stuff out of the textured surfaces in the house like nothing else I have tried before. My floors, refrigerator handle, stove handle, dishwasher, railing, and doors and I am just getting started. It is well worth the $2 or $3 that I paid for it.

If you guys know of any other great cleaning products let me know. I am actually a little excited about cleaning now. Just a little though.

Where has your chapstick been?

I recieved this e-mail today and laughed out loud. I thought that it worked well being it is the week before Mother's Day. I know that it is a bit long but worth the read. Enjoy!
>>> The Ellen Show was on and I saw her read this submission to a contest from a viewer that I thought you would like:

So, we had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on this mat in our bathroom.

Well, we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick. LOVES IT. He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done.

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally have the older one and the baby loaded in the car and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally round the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right--their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind. And the only question to really ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth.

And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's butt.

I'm Back

I can't believe that I haven't blogged in almost a month. It has been a crazy month though. So much has happened. The craziest thing was that we moved. We bought a house and have had a whirlwind of weeks since. I will post pictures of the house soon. The spring soccer season started at the beginning of the month. Brooklyn and Sidney are on the same team this year. They play pretty well together.

Purple Lightning!

The Chick-Fil-A cow showed up to cheer the team on. Brandon and Josh are coaching again this year and they don't have to wear pink.

Zach and Jack are soccer buddies. They both have sisters on the team.

The Big "30"

Brandon turned 30 on the 15th. We had a surprise party for him and he actually was surprised. We were in the process of painting and moving that weekend so he figured that I wouldn't have time to do anything. I am thankful to our friends, Jan and Peter, for hosting the shindig. A good time was had by all.
